I
personally love cinnamon snail / cinnamon stick - as quick as they can get.
These do not have remonce or other cream in, just plain cinnamon filling. The
recipe is not exactly healthy, but it is super delicious! Since I can't
tolerate sugar, I made a sugar-free version that still contains both butter and
flour. If you want a regular version, look in the brackets.
Whichever
recipe you choose, they will be insanely delicious and tangy as I screwed a
tooth extra for the filling!
Recipe
Dough:
50 grams of butter
1.5 dl. skimmed milk
25 grams of yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp. sucrine (or common sugar)
300 grams of wheat flour
Filling:
50 grams of butter
1 tablespoon cinnamon (or more to taste)
1.5 dl. sukrin gold (or plain sugar or
brown sugar, to taste)
Course
of action
1. Melt the
butter in a saucepan
2. Pour milk in
until little finger is warm
3. Crumble the
yeast into a bowl and pour in the little finger hot mixture
4. Stir until
the yeast is completely dissolved and then pour in the rest of the milk
5. Add salt,
sugar and flour and knead dough well together
6. Place flour
on table and roll out dough until it measures approx. 30 * 25 cm or so you
think the thickness is appropriate
7. Stir the
ingredients to the filling (fluffy the butter in the microwave if it comes
straight from the refrigerator)
8. Spread the
filling on the rolled out dough - stop 1 cm before one edge longitudinally
9. Roll the
dough together towards the free edge (hope that makes sense)
10. Cut into
appropriate sizes - I got 19 snails
11. Take a snail
and turn the "snip" which is not covered with filling under the bottom
of the snail - then it is closed at the end and the filling does not flow out
so easily. Press the auger a little flat on how high you want them. They grow a
lot upwards, so push them like they are only approx. 3 cm high.
12. Once you
have done this with all the augers, they should rise for 20 min. a warm place
with a towel over it
13. Bake them in
the oven at 200 degrees for approx. 15 min. until they are slightly golden
14. Eat them
warm or cold - with icing or without
15. TIP: If they
have been standing for a few days and you think they have become a bit dry,
they can be lightened in the microwave and eat immediately. Or just put lots of
icing
